Kadima and USY
Tifereth Israel’s Youth Programs include a variety of opportunities for children of all ages! Our youth-oriented programming provides our children with the opportunity to create long-lasting friendships while participating in a variety of social, cultural, and religious activities.
Brief descriptions of our youth programs can be found below. If you would like more information about any of Tifereth’s youth programming or you would like to sign up for one of our program-specific email lists, please contact Lay-Cantor Patrick Courtney or Youth Director Raizel Small through the synagogue office at 515-255-1137 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
United Synagogue Youth (USY)
USY, the international youth organization of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, serving teens in 9th to 12th grade. In addition to regular social gatherings, USY also helps out with Tikkun Olam projects and seeks to involve its membership with cultural and religious programming to help foster a strong sense of Jewish identity in all of its members.
Kadima is the USCJ youth program for Jewish pre-teens, serving children currently in 6th to 8th grade. Our Kadima program is designed to bring our middle school-aged children together for fun social activities to help foster a stronger sense of community in our next generations. Kadima meets once per month, sometimes in the synagogue’s Youth Lounge and sometimes outside the building for events such as bowling, ice skating, and other fun activities.
This youth program is made possible by the Larry and Suzanne Engman Fund.
